and cut wheat and threw it out on the ground on a bare spot.  I am going to keep a place clear of snow and feed the birds on it.  They had cleaned the pigeon-grass all up leaving only the dry husks.  The English sparrows were not around because it was to windy.  I think they were in the church-sheds.  Finis Jan 29, '00.
