86. above the trees a chicadee hunted around in the leaves almost at my feet and then flew up and pulled a leaf to pieces. A Red Squirrel in the tree above me gave a sudden squeak and scared up the Redpolls. Then I went home. [[line]] Mar. 15, Thursday. This afternoon about [[end page]] [[start page]] 87. 5 oclock I heard an English Sparrow give a note like [[wavy underline]] tūr-rēēt [[/wavy underline]] 3 times. It was on the Lange's corner on the sidewalk. Another one with it gave the regular notes. [[line]] Mar. 16, Friday It is very cold today with a raw north wind. A white-breasted Nuthatch came and got some suet this morning he went on the ground. [[line]]
