Dear Sirs,-

It would give me the greatest pleasure to do everything in my power to be of service to Mrs. Charles Allis, but such works of art and pictures which the late Mr. Charles Allisowned and not sold to him by my former firm, I am quite unable to evaluate as I only casually saw them and they are not sufficiently in my mind to appraise them, even, as you suggest, should I have a memorandum giving me their list.

Regarding the paintings and works of art sold by my former firm, all I can say is that I believe them to be worth the separate amount paid for them and that, should you not have a complete list of them, I shall be of course very much pleased to send you a complete information as to prices paid for them.

Very truly yours,
