Messrs. Jacques Seligman & Co, Inc.,
705 Fifth Avenue,
New York City.

Gentlemen:,

Enclosed herewith please find latest revision sheets in relation to Park Avenue Residents listing. It may perhaps be well to note that two of the houses included, namely No's 67 and 485, are comparatively recent. The following information may also be informative to you.

The utility of this record became so manifest to our members that over fifty made direct request for a similar manuscript embracing streets adjacent to Park Avenue, with the result that we have compiled by direct and personal canvass a listing covering the wealthier Residents located on streets between Fifth and Lexington Avenues north from 34th St to 96th, including Fifth and Madison Avenues. Telephone numbers are also included.

This record, designated as "PROMINENTS OF THE NEAR-EAST SIDE", contains between four to five thousand names, (over twice the number within the Park Avenue listing). Its compilation has been effected through an extraordinarily painstaking and individual canvass leaving it almost exclusively representative of the permanent wealth of this section and authentic up to November 20th. Smaller apartments, two, three and four family houses of the renovated type together with flats of the studio order, although sometimes of appreciable rental, have in the majority of cases been omitted in a process of elimination calculated to leave only families or individuals of established affluence and unquestionable substance. Credit responsibility has in a large measure been considered so as to create this record doubly interesting and valuable from a standpoint indicative of healthful accounts worthy of consistent cultivation.

Inasmuch as only the approximate quantity indicated by request from members are being made, it will be necessary for those requiring copies to notify us before the sheets have been multigraphed and the settings broken, because an additional supply is not contemplated when the originals are exhausted. The fee for each copy will be $30.00 inclusive with revisions until March 1st, and upon receipt of check for this amount list will be mailed or delivered.
