My very dear friend,-

I have just returned from my trip West. The newspapers must have told you all about the climateric conditions that we met in Chicago and Minneapolis, that means snow blizzards and ice, a regular winter weather. All the same this trip was a very interesting one, and I feel pretty satisfied.

Again I wish to thank you and your delightful parents for the most charming hospitality you offered me. I especially appreciate how very nice of you to have spent your time going about with me, and giving me all the explanations which could give to this pleasure trip a business interest.

As you know, I am leaving on the 14th of April, and if you think of anything special, let me know before that date.

Have you come to any conclusion as to how I could make the acquaintance of Mrs. Schoelkopf? Perhaps might you, if you think of it, let me know a little ahead of time when Mrs. Chauncey Hamlin thinks of sailing for France, and perhaps also where she intends stopping. By the way, if any of your friends think of going to Paris, I might help them in getting accomodation for them; you must know that this is a rather serious question nowadays in our capital.

With my sincere feelings of gratefulness, believe me, dear friend,
