President F. D. Patterson
Tuskegee Institute
Tuskegee Institute, Alabama

My dear President Patterson:

I read with interest of your resignation from Tuskegee to become president of the Phelp-Stokes Fund.

The knowledge that you are leaving Tuskegee comes somewhat as a shock and I truly regret to see it occur. However, I have every confidence in your good judgment and faith that you anticipate a valuable and useful service in your new field.

My very best wishes are with you.

Very sincerely yours,
