Dr. F. D. Patterson, President
Tuskegee Institute
Alabama

Dear Dr. Patterson:

I have just been made aware of the shocking news of your pending resignation, and wanted to take this opportunity to indicate my profound regrets and feelings of great loss to the school and community.

Rest assured that all are as full aware of the lasting contributions you have made to the Institute and the nation as they are of the stability and dignity which you have brought to the office of the office of President.

I am positive that the members of the Dental Service of this hospital join with me in wishing for you greater personal happiness and success in your new undertaking. We simply wish that you did not have to leave us.

Our best wishes to Mrs Patterson and your son and may God bless you.

Ever so sincerely,

Clifton O. Dummett, D. D. S.
Chief, Dental Service
