Dear Dr. Patterson:

Dr. Tildon has been thoughtful enough to advise me that you are retiring and the memory of the pleasant afternoon with you at Tuskegee Institute and the unbelievable concert given by your mixed choir as well as the review of your student body causes me to drop you this note and wish you the happiest of years in your retirement.

I, too, am looking forward to a time when I may retire and after a busy life, I think one is more than entitled to that privilege and contentment.

With my best wishes, believe me

Most sincerely yours,
