Dr. Frederick D. Patterson, President
Tuskegee Institute
Tuskegee, Ala.

Dear Pat:

The news in the morning paper this morning about your resignation is bad news for Tuskegee, but I am sure you will make a great place for your self in your new responsibilities in New York.

You have done a wonderful job at Tuskegee and, at the same time, an equally fine job as President of the UNCF. I congratulate you sincerely on both achievements.

I hope you are going to continue to give your leadership to the UNCF. It needs you and it is now at a stage, I believe, where much of your hard pioneering work will begin to pay large dividends.

Best wishes to you in your new responsibilities in which, i hope, I will have the pleasure of seeing you frequently.

With kind regards.

Yours sincerely,

A.C. Marts
