Dr. F. D. Patterson, President
Tuskegee Institute
Tuskegee Institute, Alabama

Dear Dr. Patterson:

It is certainly with regret that I have read of your resignation as president of Tuskegee Institute. Wile I can appreciate the reasons given by you it is still a great loss to Tuskegee. I believe I know some of your emotional reactions in making the decision; therefore, I will not let this be a "sob" letter. It is my sincere wish that you will be happy in your position with the Phelps-Stokes Foundations.

I can hardly believe you have been president of Tuskegee for eighteen years. May I say you have done a good job and just a few days before seeing the article in the [[underlined]] Cleveland Press [[/underline]] I had mentioned to someone how you had developed and the very excellent job which you were doing at Tuskegee.

Remember me kindly to Catherine and with very best wishes for you.

Sincerely yours,

THE PHILLIS WHEATLEY ASSOCIATION
