Dr. F.D. Patterson, President
Tuskegee Institute
Tuskegee Institute, Alabama

Dear Dr. Patterson:

I suppose that your mail has been crowded with letters of regrets since learning of your leaving Tuskegee Institute, and yet I cannot resist adding mine to your collection.

It has been a keen source of pleasure to be associated with you in the United Negro College Fund and to have felt the inspiring influence of your personality. It is not often given to one individual to do so much for the improvement of education for our people as you have been able to do. Perhaps it is truer to say that it is rare to find in one person the vision and ability to do so much for so many. There is nothing wrong with America which cannot be cured with more devoted willing workers like you.

I extend to you best wishes for happiness and success in your new work.

Sincerely yours,
