At Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, three years ago she was elected president of the First District Women's Convention of the Western and Central States and Territories, which position she now holds.
   
On the death of her husband, in 1902, she again entered the school-room and is now a teacher in the schools of Kansas City, Kansas.

Louis J. Williams, principal of public schools, Sherman, Texas, was graduated from Lincoln Institute in 1884.  He has given the entire time to the profession of teaching.  His first work after graduation was at Kirksville, Missouri.  At the close of this scholastic year he was elected at Chillicothe, Missouri, where he taught seven successive years.   While here he was married to a young lady, whom he says has been his chief spur in all his subsequent work.   

During the last fifteen years Mr. Williams has taught in the State of Texas.  One year was spent in public schools of Denton, and two years in Rockdale.   For the last twelve years he has been principal of the public schools of Sherman, Texas.  This is quite an important position.
