Mrs. REBECCA HIGGINS-BURRIS, the newly-elected matron for boys at Lincoln Institute, is a graduate of the class of 1887.

She has taught at Springfield, Missouri, for five years, with such success and satisfaction that one of the ex-superintendents, when her application was presented for her present position, said that she was one of the best grade teachers in the State.

Mrs. Burris has also taught in Kansas City, Sedalia and Marshall. She is quite accomplished in both instrumental and vocal music, and has taught both in the many places where she has worked in other capacities.

MRS. REBECCA HIGGINS-BURRIS.

In 1895 she was married to Mr. L.B. Burris, who is himself a teacher and an ex-student of Lincoln Institute. They have two children, Nellie and Lyman, who are both now bright young Lincolnites.

Besides the city property which they own, they operate a modern poultry farm near Macon, Missouri.
