[[underlined]] Report on the Operations in the Department of Antiquities, U. S. National Museum, during March, 1886. [[/underlined]]

The following specimens were entered in the Loan-Book: A celt with a cross-groove on each side, from Centreville, Richmond County, Tennessee,---T. S. Easley; an unfinished stone pipe, from Mercer County, Kentucky,---R. W. Mercer; 3 chipped flint implements of unusual form and size, from Steuart and Humphreys Counties, Tennessee,---Edward D. Hicks. The celt and flint implements are retained for the purpose of having casts taken, and the pipe, having been examined and reported on, was returned. 

No specimens having been sent to this Department for entry in the Record-Book during the month, the time was almost exclusively devoted to work in the hall.
