[[underline]]Can report no finds thereabouts.[[/underline]] Has in the collection a lot of rude stone implements that were said to have been found together in a quarry in Lancaster Co., mainly of sandstone and show no traces of hafting. Length, from 4 1/2 to 8 inches Some are flat and have rudely rounded ends like the so-called celts; others are like a long sweet potato. All rudely chipped from river pebbles, and in a number the old surface is left to a great extent.

The flat axes are about 1/2-[[superscript]]to[[/superscript]]3/4 of an inch thick and about 3 fingers broad; the others are about 2 1/2-[[superscript]]to[[/superscript]]3 inches thick.

Speaks of having inspected a large Indian mortar at Nazareth---weight, a ton; 14 inches deep and 8-[[superscript]]to[[/superscript]]10 inches in diameter. Enclosed sketches.
