Fang: Lazy
Gene Perret
17/MAR/1968
[[strikethrough]]Or else[[/strikethrough]] ^[[Sometimes]] I stick a [[strikethrough]]piece[[/strikethrough]] ^[[sprig]] of Ivy in his beer can and [[strikethrough]]pretend[[/strikethrough]] ^[[tell them]] he's a planter.

Transcription Notes:
Strike tags to be true to the annotations on the card. "tell them" is written on the card, not "tell him" and I believe this is comedically significant because "them" almost makes the sprig of ivy a silent character. I believe there may be a mention of Gene Perret thinking this way in his book, Comedy Writing Step By Step. She introduced (Fang?) to a new friend! And she gave them their connecting relationship if Fang will go along with her suggestion and be the ivy's planter! Or, Fang is just so lazy it's hard to tell he's human so she needs to test the humanity of the plant for comparison and see if they get on well together.--Or he's so lazy that he never moves, and she adds a plant to his beer can and tells guests that he's basically just a household decoration--@hannabred/NMAH team
