In the 1st (west) quarry at E. Soo Falls Kansan rests on rock.
E. of turn to E Soo Falls [[insertion]] (SW. cor. sec. 20-101-48) [[/end insertion]] lower part of slope Kansan is exposed (see sample)
There are pebbles & boulders, granite, Soo. Q., etc.
Above (is loess - calcareous at top

About 3/4 mi [[strikethrough]] e [[/strikethrough]] N. of same [[insertion]] (near SE. cor. SW. 1/4 SW. 1/4 - 19-101-48) [[/insertion]]
cross-roads at least 7 ft. of loess shows in road cut (high point - 1025)
Below this, partway down slope to W. is a distinct layer (about 1-2 ft.) of blue loess with large [[round?]] [[boulders?]]
Below this is drift, strongly oxidized above.

This is a clear case,
See sample of blue loess.
The highest point in this part is just west (a few rods E. of 1st [[insertion]] (SW. corner 19-101-48) [[/insertion]] mile corner going W. from cross-roads) - & is 1030.
(3/4 mile W. was just about right.)
Highest pt (1095) is just W. of 2nd mile corner (SW corner of sec. 24-101-49)
