[[underlined]]Cut 24.[[/underlined]] S. of the 1/2 [[sec.]] corner W. of White's house along [[road]] there is a low bank - 2-4 ft - shows gray loess with iron tubes, nodules, and a few fossils. This is not high, its about 1305 at base. This blue loess runs along for some distance and lower down the lobular "chocolate" or rather a red [[hardpan?]] (ferretto) shows & below it typical light Kansan. On N. side of sec. 36, (ne 1/4) there is a small hill with Kansan [[exposure]]. Mr. White's NE. 40A. alfalfa field is 5 yrs. old and the one pasture (30 A.) is 12 yrs. old. He is pasturing this 30 A., [[Gets?]] it grow up well so that young [[end page]] [[start page]] [[line down center of page]] indigestible stuff is not eaten rapidly, & has [[turned?]] 100 head of Aberdeen Angus cattle. He says it works fine. Has been in 3 weeks & a crop 2 tons to A. has been cut. The 40 A. tract has been cut twice, 5 tons to A. & the 3c was beginning to blossom [[underline]]Cut 25[[/underline]] Just E. of school house on N. line of 36 the hill shows Kansan away up. There is very little loess. The bluffs along this part are rather steep & high on E. side & show groves well up, in pockets. Along W. side of sec. 36, at about middle, Kansan shows along base of bluff - limey - with boulders _. shows in barn yard & on road at foot of hill. Marked on plat.
