[[vertical line on left side of page]] loess with tubes, no bands could not make out sharp line. Yellow loess is 4 - 5 ft exposed & contains mostly rounded nodules, layers. In lower thin of slope some small nodules appear at surface. Slope faces E. [[insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut 44 [[/underlined]] [[/insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut d [[/underlined]] is on steep slope facing E. The base shows drift - well up - 1/4 way or less, the qray belt appears across road. This is gray loess (mucky at very base) with iron tubes & scattered round nodules saw no fossils. It is probably 2-4 ft thick above it [[insertion]] ^ the [[/insertion]] cut (with gutter on S. side) runs 5 to 7 ft. but is overgrown. Shows yellow loess, heavy. [[insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut 48 [[/underlined]] [[/insertion]] At h, - 1467 - there is a low cut on very gentle slope near top of plateau, which shows gray loess - with iron tubes, with very strongly rusted layer above (5 or 6 in. or more) I could not make out distinct yellow loess, but there seems to be some. It must be very thin
