Few in river [[insertion]] ^ & in this part of state [[/insertion]] [[Shist?]] no [[skrees?]] on it. These streams [[end page]] [[start page]] [[vertical line in left margin of page]] are singularly devoid of shells. [[insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut 74 [[/underlined]] [[/insertion]] Cut F is over line S. about 12 ft deep. The loess is heavy , gray, with many dark shots & streaks & also reddish streaks (all of iron), & a few nodules. Below it becomes very gray with a few large tubes, & few fragments of fossil shells In the 1/2 & 1/2 place there are shells - 6 ft. from [[ground?]] & up. See samples. The latter [[overwonder?]] yellow. All this (almost) appears to be gray. [[underlined]] Cut 75 [[/underlined]] also shows gray loess [[insertion]] ^ similar to 74 but smaller. [[/insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut 76 [[/underlined]] was just being cut & showed only yellow loess. It is 4-5 ft deep. Contrast with [[underlined]] 74 [[/underlined]] is strong.
