On road S. at points marked
The yellow loess on top of hills has many small nodules.  Same on road west in first mile. A rather

low knob (end of ridge) [[insertion]] SE. 1/4 S.E 1/4 15-87-37. [[/insertion]] shows drift
almost to top. [[insertion]] ^ almost no loess. [[/insertion]]  The next hill N. (1), shows gray loess, with iron tubes & many nodules on lower stretch of a gradual slope, & then more [[above?]] top in yellow loess.

The gray runs well up to half way, and at that point a little gutter & bank show yellow above, with a fairly sharp line between

[[insertion]] [[underlined]] Cut 112 [[/underlined]]  Scrub bur oaks appear on hills - tops.  Shows shows drift & loess. 

[[underlined]] Cut 113 [[/underlined]] [[/insertion]] Hill W. of middle of N. line sec. 28. shows bouldery drift at base & then rather steep hill does not show anything well until top, where yellow loess appears.

(In first page) There might be some letters or numbers that get lost in the edge of page as it bends towards middle after the numbers 28+21-79 Also at bottom of page after "on low hill" words are illegible as they bend in towards center on page. Also on first page: unsure if I am reading "4 correct or if it's 1/4. When written: SE "4 NE or is it 1/4NE ? (It is 1/4 to indicate which quadrant of the section map is referred to--thomasc) I changed "in [[wayne?]] road" to "in wagon road" in first line of page 1--thomasc
