At 2nd pole from W. end fossils in gray, 8 ft of yellow  & 11 ft of gray

[[underline]] Cut 225 [[/underline]]
At 3 1/2 to 6 poles a cut 10+ ft on N side.
Probably less gray.
Goes down lower than present grade.
11 poles from this cut to cut 81. [[strikethrough]] 18 or 21 [[/strikethrough]] 30-40+ ft deep.
Gray loess away up. Many nodules. Some tubes. Saw no shells, - too dark.
A heavy bluish crumbly loessy stuff at track level - not loess.
It is 450 yds long.
This is a fine large cut, and should be studied [[insertion]] more fully [[/insertion]].  It was too dark for this

Along road to cut 83, at cut 85 I found gray loess, with iron tubes, and a few fossils, mostly Suc. ovalis.
