[[underlined]] Cut 51 [[/underlined]] faces E. shows Kansan 1/3 way up, then gray streak & finally yellow. [[underlined]] Cut 52 [[/underlined]] faces E. It shows 5-6 ft of yellow loess in cut at top & sides (gutter) near base show gray loess [[underlined]] Cut 53 [[/underlined]] faces W. It is on rather low ridge & its lower part shows drift. Then a ferretto; & then in bank on N. side a belt of gray loess (with tubes) showing at least 2 ft. Then yellow on top. [[underlined]] Cut 54 [[underlined]] [[insertion]] Faces E. [[/insertion]] Shows gray streak & yellow loess [[underlined]] Cut 55 [[/underlined]] Faces E. Drift at base. Loess above (yellow) [[underlined]] Cut 56 [[/underlined]] shows drift well up to [[interaction?]]. gray streak at [[interaction?]] & a little yellow loess on top South. Red feretto also shows. [[/strikethrough]] [[end page]] [[start page]] [[strikethrough]] about 3 ft of yellow loess exposed in bank S. of cross roads. Gray is distinct but not thick. Has iron tubes & few nodules. [[underlined]] Cut 57 [[/underlined]] shows much drift & some loess on top. Faces S. Reading on return in hotel office = 1296 At CR J&P. = 1235 On return, office = 1283 [[/strikethrough]]
