The male called and chucked and hovered over me while I was examining it.
I set it on a post and it flew into the grass. The female came with food but did not feed it.
The male had a curious habit of examining his toes.
Then I went home.

About 4 tonight I was down by Englemann's. I heard the Male Martins war cry and saw him chasing a Cooper's Hawk. He dashed down by it giving the note.
Then he had a fight with a King bird in the air.

June 13, Wednesday.
This morning about 10 oclock I rode out to Spaulding's. Saw a number of Vesper Sparrows. Some had young. They and the English Sparrows fed together.
