This morning I went down to water the horses. Saw a flock of half a dozen young cowbirds.

Saturday June 30.
Saw the Cowbird's again this morning. They were rather afraid but I approached them closely on my hands and knees.

July 1 Sunday
Went over in T. Hackett's grove this afternoon. Saw a Yellow-bellied Woodpecker. The Red-winged Blackbirds were feeding in the hay fields in flocks.

July 3, Tuesday.
Saw a young yellow bellied Woodpecker by Carpenter's. It flew over towards Steinbrinks. It had a greyish head.
