Ridge. A train started them on again. The Snipe stretched one wing with its claw. I changed my position and the Killdeer ran away rapidly stopping The Snipe followed more slowly with neck stretched as far as possible. It looked a Rail
Went on into Maines Woods. Saw a Song Sparrow. A gunshot flushed a flock of about 30 Cedar Waxwings. They circled around but I did not see where they lit. A number of Robins were feeding

on frost grapes in a tree. They were very wild. There were numbers of them in these woods. Thier lisping notes could be heard in all directions Watched a bluejay flying it flew with its head and body turned slightly towards the direction in which the wind came. Like this [[line drawing with arrow]] West wind East north "a" is the jay[[/line drawing with arrow]] It was going straight north on [[?dotted]] course. A Bobolink and a Bronzed grackle flew over.
