opened three of these pits & had found enough objects indicating human occupation to cover one of our large cases. The pits were in a [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a field which had been cultivated from early times & the objects lay just below the reach of the plough.

While at Philadelphia I met Dr Boniton Dr Lerdy, Professor Wilcox, Mr Stewart Calin, Mr Francis MacAuby, Doctor Abbott & others.
