This P is the only thing I have seen which might be considered a display movement.

I only watched the captive capuchin for a few moments today; but I did notice a few things.

He can do P without any sound at all.  In fact, he did it a lot of times within the few minutes I watched. What does this suggest about its motivation. Lower intensity than P&MG??? Containing a weaker escape element????

He also has another sound related to MG (again it may only be a variant). A long drawn note "Aaaarrrh" More guttural than other MG's. Most like the grunt-like types. Can't say much about its causation; but it sounds as if it might be rather high intensity.

We put the captive capuchin in with the 2 Spider Monkeys for a couple of days. He didn't do anything new or interesting in the way of behavior, simply because the Spiders absolutely refused to react to or with him; but I should mention that once, when the L Spider knocked him off his perch, passing by in a hurry,
