[[underlined]] Cebus capucinus [[/underlined]], Nov. 13, 1958, II. [[circled]] 6 [[/circled]] [[3 straight lines and 1 jagged line are running vertically down the left margin]] The MGB is the usual form of B given by the animal moving about the cage in a not-too-excited manner when I am sitting outside. Often alternated with the ordinary weak Trll. Often associated with slight PL; the PL occurring during the actual utterance of the notes as well as between notes. An apparently higher intensity form of B are longer, deeper, rather hoarse, not-at-all plaintive notes, which appear to be almost bisyllabic (sometimes almost trisyllabic?) Might be transcribed by something like "Oooooaah". Each note essentially single, although, of course, frequently repeated. I shall call these notes BB. They are also frequently associated with PL, in the same way as MBG Notes, but the PL associated with BB is much more extreme, morphologically, than the PL with MGB. The BB Notes are characteristically given by the animal when he is moving about the cage rather "nervously" when I am sitting inside (quietly, without much movement). It is possible that the BB Notes are produced by a relatively stronger escape component than the MGB. Another form of B are sharp loud hoarse notes, similar to the BB in quality but much shorter, more explosive sounding, and quite monosyllabic. Real barks in fact. I shall call these AlB's. They seem to be given when the animal is greatly alarmed. He gave a lot of them, for instance, when Boca (of whom he seems to be frightened), appeared in the dist-
