pinnipeds received this year.

[[underlined]] Cetaceaus [[/underlined]] - Dr. L. Stejneger obtained from M. Grebnitski, in Bering Isl., and presented to the Museum, a skull of a Bottle-nosed whale, believed to be [[underlined]] Ziphius grebnitski [[/underlined]] Stejnr-, and the skeleton of a young Killer, [[underlined]] Orca [[/underlined]] sp.  From the U.S. Life-saving station not so many cetacean were received as during the two previous years.  The collection was enriched, however, by a foetal and an adult female Pygmy Sperm whale, obtained respectively bh Keepers L.T. G[[?]], of Loveladies Is., N.J., and J.W. Ridgway of B[[?]] City, N.J.  Keeper J.R. Hobbs captured a common dolphin, [[underlined]] D. delphis [[/underlined]] and Mr. C.H. Townsend collected a skull of the same species on the California coast.  The latter collector also obtained a fine specimen of the baleen of the California grey whale.
