I have corresponded with Mr. C.K. Worthen of Warsaw, Ill. relative to exchanges of North American mammals. The gentleman will write to you on the subject. A letter to Prof. A. Nehring was prepared for your signature, in which the kind of materials desired in exchange for five genuine Indian-dog skulls was specified.

The following specimens were added to the exhibition series: Skins - Moose and elk (repaired); gibbon, [[underlined]] Hylobates concolor [[/underlined]] and Fox (put on new bases). Skeletons - Gar-pike, screech owl, condor, [[underlined]] Rhea [[/underlined]], cassowary and jack snipe ([[underlined]] Tringa maculata [[/underlined]]). Teeth - Hippopotamus, woodchuck, rat, parrot-fish. Skulls - Hippopotamus and Killer whale and toucan. Bones - Femur of Sloth, feet of sea otter and sloth.

Transcription Notes:
Tringa maculata = Pectoral Sandpiper, so did they have that as well, or did they mislabel a Jack Snipe?
