Both Caldwell & Andrews were up on the hillside with a goat as bait [[strikethrough]] for [[/strikethrough]] waiting for tiger until sundown. No tigers were seen by any of us. Our camp at Futsing is beautifully situated under a great spreading banyan tree on the roadside. Nearby is a large gum tee, Liquidamber & a few candletrees near the cluster of houses below us. Weather very warm but usually a breeze during the afternoon. The hillsides are largely covered by small second growth pines & some spruces. No bamboo is near the camp. (23) Caught no tigers in the traps on hillside baited by live dogs. Went out early with Andrews & turned dogs loose. We went swimming in the pool at 10 am water lukewarm. Weather hot.
