Everything feel the heat. The varnished furnisher [[sic]] sticks to your clothing when you sit in a chair or lean on a table.
[[circled left]] 14 [[/circled left]] I heard one of the Burmese bands played near the Circuit House & I went hither & investigated. The band consisted of several bamboo or barrel drums, a flute, a series of brass bells or gongs giving a sound like a zarimba & symbols [[sic]] made of slabs of bamboo. The music was like that of the Turkish Hush Kuchi [[strikethrough]] or [[/strikethrough]] a sort of dance music but their [[sic]] were no dancers. The musicians were chiefly boys.
