The mouth is about 20 miles wide.  At noon we reach Woo-sung the at the mouth of the Whang-po river on which Shanghai is located, 12 miles above.  Woo-sung is the anchorage for all large passenger boats.  The trip up the Whang-po was interesting.  The river is lined by green fields of millet & rice.
