New York, November 26th., 1946

Dear F-G,

I am sending you, herein, copies of letters I have sent by same mail to René. Should you feel that the items which would thus become the property of Jacqueline, yourself, and René Fulda represent a greater interest, in other words, a greater marketing facility and better prices than the ones I would keep in New York in exchange, as I personally think is the case, please have this pressed, so that we can come to some conclusion as quickly as possible; as I am writing to René that, permission having been granted to another gallery, and that there being no money involved, I do not see any reason, offhand, for the exchange not to be granted by the Office des Changes.

Affectionately,

(Germain Seligman)

Mr. Francois Gerard Seligmann
23 Place Vendôme
Paris
France

P.S. Since writing you these lines this morning I have had Mrs. Paul Guillaume's visit with whom, by the way, I achieved nothing from a business angle, and who is retunring [[sp?]] tomorrow to France. But, strangely enough, what is of interest is that, talking about business facilities between the two countries, and without my saying anything, she spontaneously said that,"in fact, you should be a le to do business with Paris and with your brother on the basis of exchange, as exchanges are allowed by the Office des Changes, as long as they do not involve any money transactions. This is thus a further confirmation of what I wrote.
