Dear F-G,

I was very glad indeed to receive your two letters of September 30th. and October 7th.

GOLD WOVEN TAPESTRIES & HUBERT ROBERT PAINTINGS You tell me that I have not written anything to you in connection with this. I do not understand how this could be, as in midsummer from Jamaica I sent to Rene and to Peck full descriptions of the items, and I am wondering what they are doing with them if they have not been turned over to you for the proper purpose.

LADY MENDL I am trying to contact her in connection with the "Savonnerie rug" and shall keep you posted. I note what you wrote as to the adviseability of taking this up with Jacques Helft, and probably will do so as per your recommendation.

MADAME GUILLAUME Should she come over please let me know.

CONSTANTINE I am indeed sorry to hear about the difficulties you are having there, and I am wondering whether the Garreau Dombasles could not be the key to them, but,as I wrote Francoise, do just as you please, but let me know what you do as I have to write to them, and I want to know what to say.

MADELEINE I received yesterday a long letter with a list of the items she kept and saved. I have sent the list to Peck as I am most anxious to have them shipped here. However, if I am bothering you with this it is because she tells me she is badly in need of money on account of the insurance policies she had to take, the moving expenses, and the estate taxes. You realize I cannot discuss this with her by letter, and would like you to take it in hand, and needless to say, whatever you decide to do and do has my full endorsement.

With best wishes,

Affectionately yours,

(Germain Seligman)
