Dear François Gerard:

You were so sweet to telegraph asked about the Moos PICASSO. We excitedly opened our new PICASSO books that we have to thank you for.

What seemed to be a highly interesting PICASSO gave us impressions which might have been ^[[wrong]] and we would be thankful to you to let us know whether you had the same. We felt that the painting was enormous in [[strikethrough]] height [[/strikethrough]] ^[[length;]] that the composition was placed in the middle giving a feeling that there was a lack of air on top and bottom, and on the contrary, emptiness left and right. Are we right? because on seeing the painting, you may have had a very different impression. Anyhow, we cabled to Moos [[strikethrough]] our opinion that its price would be a rather low one. [[/strikethrough]] ^[[inquiring for the price.]] His answer was $8,000.--, which would be too much even if the painting was of a better size and to our feeling better composed. However, I want to repeat and thank you ever so much for your kindness for keeping an alert eye open.

Daisy Feuche asked me whether I know a painter, Jean Paul, as a friend of hers would like to sponsor Jean Paul and buy all his work, since he is judged as a much better DUFY. Do you know him? If you can investigate, without any trouble, whether Jean Paul would be ready to sell his whole [[strikethrough]] collection [[/strikethrough]] ^[[production]], it would be to my feeling pure kindness, [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] ^[[but]] perhaps he is a really good artist.

With best love,
