Dear Francois Gerard:

You will have before long the visit of Mrs. Ruth Underhill who is a nice-looking woman, a friend of Edna's, who is going to see you. If she feels like asking you to hand over to her the Mosan plates, it would be a necessity to insure them.

For that purpose, I would like you to send me a wire [[strikethrough]] right away [[/strikethrough]] so as to have them insured properly in time. ^[[as soon as she takes them over.]]

I don't think I wrote to you yet the lovely story that Amicher told me a few days before he left. He was so frightfully busy, frightfully busy he didn't know hot to manage in those hectic hours. Imagine that Miss Anna Morgan, who is really a lovely lady, had called him up several times begging him to come for luncheon, and he told her, "Dear Miss Morgan, how can I accept your kind invitation when all my moments are taken. Should the departure of the boat be postponed, I will certainly let you know and it will be a pleasure for me to have a meal with you."
