I want to emphasize that we would be very interested to handle the work of a good artist, or two or even three. Would you have any other ideas outside of Gruber, and if so, please send photographs and an idea of colors.

I send you herewith a list of the artists that we sell the best:
^[[Cezanne]]
BONNARD - of almost any period
BRAQUE
DEGAS
JUAN GRIS - mainly the painting around 1918
LA FRESNAYE - drawings, watercolors, oils. Germain has just written a book on La Fresnaye. We have almost none left.
MODIGLIANI - provided of superb quality
PICASSO - up to 1932
REDON
RENOIR
SEURAT
SISLEY - before 1878
PISSARRO - only the early ones
VAN GOGH
VUILLARD - early
BOUDIN - exceptional ones
FANTIN LATOUR - when very charming
MANET
MATISSE

^[[Maybe La Fresnaye. Juan Gris would not be too expensive as maybe not as much in demand as the others]]

La Fresnayes were gathered in a very few collections; one of them was PAUL PETIT in Paris. I have a slight hint of a recollection that he might have lived on the Blvd. Malesherbes. I think Petit was in the diplomatic service so you could find out at the French Foreign office where Petit is now. Herebelow you will find other collectors of La Fremaye:
HENRI KAPFERER
GEORGES HUE, Paris
PHILIPPE CLEMENT - Is a friend of Dubois. He married years ago a Miss Grunebaum who was a medical student. They both know me.
MME. ANDRE MARE, Paris
PAUL E MONTAIGNAC, Paris
RENE GAFFE, 116 Rue Terre Neuve, Brussels. Owned "La Conquete de l'Air" and I believe some others. In 1940 he refused an offer of $10,000. for "La Conquete".

To give you an idea of actual prices things were sold for, I am listing a few of our most recent sales:
