30th April 1934. A most perfect day, not a cloud, very hot sun, & scarcely any wind. Millions of beetles flying & running everywhere, plenty of [[underlined]] Andrena [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], but practically no other hymenoptera.
Drove to Athy & down Barrow Valley to Tankardstown, then to Kilkea deerpark, & home via. Castledermot. With Rev. Gregg, Noel Gregg & E. O'M.
Stopped to collect below Ardri [[circled]] = 1 [[/circled]], in marsh & old sand pit, at Tankardstown Bridge [[circled]] = 2 [[/circled]], & in Kilkea Park [[circled]] = 3 [[/circled]], all Co. KD.
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] frequent. [[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] B. hortorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] at [[underlined]] Taraxacum [[/underlined]] in Kilkea Park.
[[underlined]] Andrena albicans [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] abundant, [[2 female symbols]] seen at 2.
