2nd May 1934. A beautiful day, but quite dull in the afternoon.
Golden Hill, near Blessington, Co. WI. 
All insects beaten, mainly off larch (just in leaf) but some out of spruce & a few out of [[underlined]] Pinus sylvestris [[/underlined]], in plantation on E. side of hill near summit, ca. 900 ft. alt.
[[underlined]] Dolerus liogastes [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] only, beaten spp the last branch beaten.
D. oblongus ? 1 [[female symbol]] beaten (sent to J.W. Saunt!)

6th May 1934. A terrific gale from SE-SW all day & heavy rain for a couple of hours from noon till 2 pm.  
In morning drove Palmer & Allen to Glenealy, intending to go to Clara wood, but driven home by storm. In afternoon drove Allen to Lucan & home via Ferry Glen, where saw one fresh [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Bombus lapidarius [[/underlined]] sunning herself, but gale too strong for insects.

9th May 1934. The first fine day after storm on 6th. Very warm (thermo. up to 70% in yard), with much sun: much the hottest day of the year so far. Aft. 2-30 till 5.30 pm.
Drove to Enniskerry & spent 2 1/2 hours in marsh between roads
Swifts heard at 9 P.M. [[line]]
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum, terrestris  [[/underlined]] (1), [[underlined]] agrorum [[/underlined]] (1), [[underlined]] muscorum [[/underlined]] (1) [[2 female symbols]] seen.
[[underlined]] B. distinguendus [[/underlined]] 1 reported by M.D.S. near lower [[insertion]] ^ (E) [[/insertion]] road.
[[underlined]] Andrena albicans [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] everywhere. [[underlined]] A gwynana [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Nomada marshamella  [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] & [[underlined]] Andrena jacobi [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] seen near E. road.
