[[underlined]] Dolerus bimaculatus [[/underlined]] 3 [[2 male symbols]] in marsh below dam & w. of road (=1) & 1 [[male symbol]] E. of lower reservoir (=2) [[underlined]] D. dubius [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] with last. [[underlined]] D. [[/underlined]] sp.? very red [[female symbol]] seen in field above last, with I think red thorax. In afternoon went up R. Canal with Mrs Lloyd (Co. Limerick) & children to look for water snails. Hawthorn in full blossom & just above "Liffey Junction" station saw thousands of Cynipids flying in bunches around tips of branches : 3 taken with the hand, all [[2 male symbols]]. Many [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Andrena jacobi [[/underlined]] also coursing up & down. [[underlined]] Bombus lapidarius [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] terrestris [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] each seen on tow-path & Ed. Lloyd recognised the [[underlined]] terrestris [[/underlined]] as the species next most common after [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]] at Heathfield, Kilmeedy, Co. LK. [[line]]
