Tarsi pale reddish yellow; seg. 1-3 yellow-red, exceptionally reddish testaceous, seg. 3 in red specimens often marked with black or occasionally entirely black; in [[insertion]] (?dark) [[/insertion]] brown examples as a rule seg. 1 & 2 have dark brown markings; the apices of the segments generally broadly & clearly transparent yellow. 5 alar hooks. 4.5 - 5.5 mm. only occasionally larger.
