12th July 1934. Barometer having fallen a little for two days this morning opened cloudy & misty rain came on as we left Glencar & drove along w. side of Caragh Lake to Glenheigh & all the hills were shrouded in mist. Stopped for lunch at beautiful wooded glen at [[Gleenok?]] ry. viaduct, where stream tumbles down through boulder-clay, suggesting a recent uplift of the coast by about 100 feet. Then drove on via Cahersiveen to Waterville & Derrynane. Stopped for tea on roadside, S. of Waterville, overlooking Ballinskelly's Bay - beautiful view to the Gt. Skellig, but country very bare & dry with drought. Arrived at Derrynane about 5.0 P.M. [road S. of Cahersiveen terrible but from Watersville to Derrynane very good.]

Transcription Notes:
Can't confirm [[Gleenok?]] Viaduct, N. of Beenmore. On second page think eldge is a misspelling of ledge. -@siobhanleachman
