Had two spells in marsh & edge of woods 
behind the dunes & east of Darrynane hotel.
Some sun but chilly wind.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]], & several [[2 virgin female symbols]], most of the latter at flowers  of Sea Holly.
[[underlined]] Psithyrus rupestris [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen in woods.
[[underlined]] Halictus freygessneri [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] albipes [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]], very fresh.
[[underlined]] Hylaeus [[/underlined]] conformis ? 1 [[female symbol]] by wall on edge of dunes.
[[underlined]] Vespa rufa [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]]  Pompilus plumbeus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] seen, but few, on dunes.
[[underlined]] Myrmica laevinodis [[/underlined]]. [[virgin female symbol]] examined. [[underlined]] Formica fusca [[/underlined]] seen. 
[[underlined]] Lasius niger [[/underlined]] common.
[[underlined]] Tenthredella moniliata [[/underlined]] ? 1 typical [[male symbol]], 1 black bodied [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] Tenthredo [[/underlined]] "arcuata" 1 highly coloured [[female symbol]]. [[underlined]] Dolerus palustris [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]].

Cryptids 2 [[2 male symbols]].

15th July 1934. A wet morning after a wet night, but clearing about mid-day, though dull & no sun all day. 
Strong W. wind.
Did not go out in morning but in afternoon walked west to The Harbour, then up hill to Waterville road & back to Derrynane by road.
[[underlined]] Lasius flavus [[/underlined]] nest seen above harbour & winged [[2 female symbols]] dug out: males not found.
[[underlined]] Mesoleius [[/underlined]] ? (Alexeter) [[male symbol]]. taken on roadside on way down to Darrynane.
[[underlined]] Microgaster [[/underlined]] or Microplitis  with last.
