Allen again visited the Aran Islands, Galway, in order to prove whether [[underlined]] Bombus smithianus allenellus [[/underlined]] occurred on all the islands or only on Inishmore; unfortunately the long spell of dry, hot, weather broke on the day of his arrival in Galway, 12th July, & vry bad weather followed. He first went to Inisheer, where he spent several days, nearly entirely wet, & took the following insects: - Inisheer, Aran Islands, C.W. Allen, 13th - 16th July 1934. [[underlined]] Bombus allenellus [[/underlined]], several old [[2 female symbols]] & numerous [[2 virgin female symbols]]. [[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]]. [[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]]. [[underlined]] Psithyrus rupestris [[/underlined]] old [[2 female symbols]] with vry torn wings. Next Allen went on to Inishmore, where he stayed till 27th July, but bad weather prevented him visiting Inishmaan at all. He payed one short visit to Straw Island & on it found [[underlined]] Bombus allenellus [[/underlined]]. On Inishmore he took: - Inishmore, Aran Islands, C.W. Allen 17th-27th July 1934. [[underlined]] Bombus allenellus [[/underlined]] a few [[2 male symbols]], plenty [[2 virgin female symbols]] but [[underlined]] no [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]].
