[[end page]] [[start page]] 179.) 16th. May 1935. Not a bad day, but terrible N. wind, very strong & cold, which kept all small insects hidden, considerable sun-bursts; no rain! St. Mullin's & Bahana Wood, Co. CW. A few icks taken in Bahana Wood in late afternoon, but all aculeates, &c., unless otherwise stated taken on slope from road (from Glynn to St. Mullin's) to stream (facing E. of South!), on Hawthorn, along banks, or amongst Bluebells; a few beaten from birch or oak where these occurred, about 1/2 mile above St. Mullin's "village". [[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] & 1 [[virgin female symbol]] seen; often at Bluebells, violets &c. [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] only 2 or 3 [[2 female symbols]]. [[underlined]] B. lapidarius [[/underlined]] several [[2 female symbols]], at Bluebells. [[underlined]] B. derhamellus [[/underlined]] several [[2 female symbols]] seen, at Viola & Bluebells. [[underlined]] B. hortorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen. [[underlined]] Psithyrus distinctus [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen. [[underlined]] Andrena carbonaria [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]], 1 [[female symbol]] on Hawthorn, another [[male symbol]] beaten out of Gorse; all just out & very fresh. [[underlined]] A. rosae [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 female symbols]], rather worn, on hawthorn. [[underlined]] A. angustior [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] very fresh, many times seen [[underlined]] in [[/underlined]] Bluebells: only 1 [[male symbol]] seen & this late in aft. & [[underlined]] in [[/underlined]] Bluebell. [[underlined]] A. jacobi, nigroaenea, saundersella, wilkella, albicans [[/underlined]] seen. [[underlined]] A. saundersella [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]] at St. Mullin's. [[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus [[/underlined]] at Bluebells; [[underlined]] lativentris [[/underlined]] (1), [[underlined]] calceatus, albipes, nitidiusculus [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] seen or taken.

"Collastes" (left page) is probably a misspelling of 'Colastes'. Also, possible "Phenosyrphus" (left page) may be a misspelling of 'Phaenoserphus'. -@mnathan

I also agree with @mnathan that Phenosyrphus is likely be a misspelling of 'Phaenoserphus'. -@siobhanleachman
