[22nd May 1935. All sunny, but very cold E. wind which freshened in afternoon. 
Left home 2.0 PM & rode to Leixlip, via Lucan & Clondalkin; arrived at aquaduct over Rye Water valley (on Royal Canal) at 2.57. Stayed till 5 PM. then rode down canal to Lucan station & home via Lucan & Chapelized.
Collected only on left bank of Rye Water, above the aqueduct, Co. KD. Owing to cold wind nothing whatever taken in the marsh & all insects brought home came from drain in field at foot of scarp (in shelter of hedge) & on the scarp.
