26th May 1935. An almost perfect day except for strong E. wind, but not so cold as previous days, & wind dropping a little in aft. quite a lot of insects out, but none to be swept in marsh. With "George" & J.A.J. Palmer.
Left & right banks of R. Liffey at [[underlined]] Athdown [[/underlined]] Co. WI.
Right bank in forenoon = 1. Left bank in afternoon = 2.
[[underlined]] Bombus lapidarius [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] on bluebell. [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] about 1/2 doz [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] a few [[2 female symbols]]. [[underlined]] B. muscorum [[/underlined]], frequent, [[2 female symbols]], on bluebells
[[underlined]] B. distinguendus [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] several reported by Palmer.

[[underlined]] A. fucata [[/underlined]] several [[2 male symbols]] & very fresh [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] A. lapponica [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] certainly taken, no doubt others seen.
[[underlined]] A. wilkella [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] abundant & one or two [[2 female symbols]] very fresh.
