Banks of river & adjoining woods, &c, above Glengarriff Lodge, Co WC. 11.30 - 5.0 PM. with J. E. Flynn.

[[underlined]] Andrena humilis [[/underlined]], several huge colonies on path & cart-ways on both sides of river; many [[2 female symbols]] quite fresh & some busy making burrows; no [[2 male symbols]] seen.
[[underlined]] A. tarsata [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] in several places.
[[underlined]] A. coitana [[/underlined]] a few [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] seen.

[[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] in abundance.
[[underlined]] H. calceatus & albipes [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & probably [[2 female symbols]] seen.

Antaean ?? 1 very small [[male symbol]] (?) in nest of [[underlined]] Lasius niger [[/underlined]]: on rt. bank of river near ford
[[underlined]] Formica fusca [[/underlined]] seen but not common,
[[underlined]] Lasius flavus [[/underlined]], nests full of nearly hatched winged [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] L. niger [[/underlined]] one nest with winged [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] L. alienus [[/underlined]] ? [[insertion]] ^ [[2 virgin female symbols]] [/insertion]] very small & polished on gravel flat by river, right bank. 
[[arrow indicating insertion]] Donisthorpe, [[underlined]] in litt. [[/underlined]] to A.W.S. dated 29/2/36 names these "[[underlined]] A. (D.) niger [[/underlined]] L. var. [[underlined]] alieno-niger [[/underlined]] Forel.
In my opinion these [[2 virgin female symbols]] are much nearer [[underlined]] alienus [[/underlined]] than [[underlined]] niger [[/underlined]]!! A.W.S 2.3.36.} [[/insertion]]
[[underlined]] Myrmica ruginodis [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] scabrinodis [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] examined 
[[underlined]] M. schencki ? [[/underlined]] 1 [[virgin female symbol]] on beating-tray after beating holly [[insertion]] [[circled]] on right bank of river at ford [[/circled]] [[/insertion]] but no more to be had, so query whether it came off the holly or was on tray previously.

Can't confirm Salius [[notalulus?]] -@siobhanleachman Think Salius Notatlulus might be "Salius Notatulus" (a solitary wasp), but since the second 't' is not crossed, and he's rather consistent at that, I have left "notalulus." Edited a code typo, and a couple other minor things, otherwise, looked good! - GigglePop!
